New role of the KCC2 N-Terminus on cell surface delivery
New article has been published by I. MEDINA’s laboratory (Fridel P. et al., 2017, eNeuro) in collaboration with CALIXAR.
The potassium-chloride cotransporter KCC2 is involved in neurological diseases including brain trauma, epilepsies, autism and schizophrenia. The work reports that the intra-cellular tail of KCC2 is a key player for the cotransporter insertion into the plasma membrane. This finding provides new molecular understanding of KCC2 biology and opens new perspectives to improve drug design toward the treatment of neurological diseases.
