Founded in January 2011, CALIXAR currently consists of a highly skilled team of 15 members (including 9 PhDs). CALIXAR’s team is led by corporate values: commitment, perseverance and humanism for the very best performance and excellence found in membrane protein innovation.
Emmanuel DEJEAN is co-founder of CALIXAR. He has a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Montpellier and has an engineering degree from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble. He spent 15 years in management and internal/external corporate venturing for Research and Innovation through different consulting companies before deciding to create CALIXAR. Emmanuel has been involved in more than 50 communications, 2 PCT patents and 2 Industrial Research Prizes.
Dr. Anass JAWHARI has a strong experience in biochemistry and structural biology of macromolecular assemblies of membrane proteins (GPCR, Ion channels, Transporters, Viral spikes..), multiprotein complexes and antibodies. He holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry & structural biology from Louis Pasteur University (Strasbourg, France), obtained under the supervision of Professor Dino Moras (IGBMC & French academy of Science). After that, he worked as research associate at the Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, US) and at the Gene Center (Munich, Germany) before joining Transgene as Research Investigator and then CALIXAR since 2012. He has more than 20 year experience in research & development projects related to molecular aspects of cancer & infectious diseases. He serves as scientific advisory board member of Chem2stab, member of different consortia (French GPCR consortium, European COST, Prometeus, BSRC Industrial Case and Marie Curie (MemTrain). Anass provides help also as Editorial board member and Guest Editor for different world leading Journals including Nature Research.
