Bmx, active
N-terminal 6His-tagged recombinant, human full length Bmx.
Biological information
Background
BMX (also called ETK, Bone marrow tyrosine kinase gene in chromosome X protein, Epithelial and endothelial tyrosine kinase) is one of the non-receptor tyrosine kinases, located intracellularly. It is a src homolog and contains an SH3 and SH2 domain upstream from the tyrosine kinase domain. Unlike other members of the BTK family kinases, which are mostly hemopoietic cell-specific, BMX is preferentially expressed in epithelial and endothelial cells of large arteries. Inhibitors of BMX may be useful in the treatment of atherosclerosis and cancer.
