ARK5, active
N-terminal 6His-tagged recombinant, human ARK5 amino acids 2-end.
Biological information
Background
ARK5 (AMPK related kinase 5) is a serine/threonine kinase and a member of the AMPK family of protein kinases. In response to stimulation by Akt, ARK5 prevents cell death induced by glucose starvation and death receptor activation in tumor cells as a result of inhibition of caspase 8 activation via preservation of c-FLIP. ARK5 can also negatively regulate procaspase-6 via direct phosphorylation at Ser257, leading to resistance to the FasL/Fas signaling system.
