WHSC1 (NSD2)
Recombinant human NSD2 amino acids 825-1208. Human Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome candidate 1.
Biological information
Background
WHSC1 (Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome candidate 1), also known as NSD2 (nuclear receptor binding SET domain protein 2), is a histone methyltransferase that adds methyl groups to histone H3 lysine 36 (H3K36). WHSC1/NSD2 is part of a family of SET domain-containing proteins that includes the closely related NSD1 and NSD3 proteins. WHSC1/NSD2 is involved in the regulation of gene expression, and has been shown to play a role in various cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, DNA damage response, and the maintenance of genomic stability. WHSC1/NSD2 is an important histone methyltransferase that plays a critical role in the regulation of gene expression and the maintenance of chromatin structure.
